In a qualifying test conducted for the selection of teachers in Rajasthan, they were caught trying to copy in a high-tech manner. At Rajasthan Eligibility Entrance for Teachers (REIT) three candidates wearing 'Bluetooth fitted sandals' tried to copy. Police have arrested five people in the city of Bikaner. The gang emerged after police arrested and questioned two suspects who were roaming around the city's Bigangshahar area bus stand.

Two accomplices, including three Reit candidates, were arrested. Two of the smallest Bluetooth fitted sandals Rs. 6 lakh each, police said. The investigation revealed that these were sold to 25 candidates from different districts. Police said the mastermind of the gang was on the run.

Initially, the invigilators thoroughly checked a candidate who was writing the test at a center in Ajmer for behaving suspiciously. He was found to have fitted a cellphone invisible inside the sandal he was wearing. Also in the ear is a subtle receiver with Bluetooth that is not visible outside. People outside the test center were found carrying answers to him. Authorities were alerted that outsiders were answering through this. This led to the emergence of Bagotas in the towns of Bikaner and Sikar.

The re-examination was held on Sunday amid tight arrangements across Rajasthan. Mobile and internet services were also suspended in 16 districts in the wake of the test. As many as 16.51 lakh students have applied for the exams conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education through 3,993 centers.
